Buyer’s Guide To Real Estate Transactions

The average American will purchase anywhere from three to seven homes in their lifetime. That means that a person may buy a new home once every seven years. Consequently, even an experienced home buyer will have some uncertainty with the process; either because of a short memory or changes since their last buy.

Given this, it is no surprise that the vast majority of my clients, regardless of their herelevel of experience, ask me to outline the process for them during the initial consultation. Realtors are experts in all things related to getting a property listed and under contract. How do you respond to clients when they ask questions about the transaction after the contract is signed?

Many agents prudently defer to the buyer’s attorney for any questions related to things like attorney review, inspection and closing. My buyer’s handbook allows a Realtor to provide answers for their client with regard to the transaction before the client speaks to the attorney.
